A new Waikato University project will look to see if sound waves can be used to more accurately measure sediment's effects on water quality.
Dr Julia Mullarney, from the University of Waikato, along with NIWA's Dr Iain MacDonald and Professor Alex Hay, from Dalhousie University in Canada, have been awarded a $1 million dollar grant by the MBIE for the project, which they hope will help authorities make better environmental decisions for the health of waterways around the country.
